Phony “Log Cabin Republican” Endorsement letter floating around in Mississippi

July 27, 2011

***UPDATE*** This letter is absolutely fake

This was just emailed in and it looks bogus.  I doubt the Log Cabin Republicans are getting involved in the Mississippi Republican Primaries. Smells like someone is up to some dirty tricks.  The letter is not mentioned on their website: LOG CABIN REPUBLICANS

And the signature and the name of the executive director do not match.

We don’t appreciate this kind of dirty, nasty, underhanded politics so we are here to call this out, that’s why blogging can be a force for good.  If this letter is in fact fake and if anyone else received this please let us know.

Bad Tate, Bad, Bad Tate

June 25, 2011

This new ad from Billy Hewes has us totally entertained, I am not sure if you can even call it a negative ad when there is a chihuahua in it.  Anyway the production value looks really good and the message,  although Tate Reeves probably does not like it will probably be somewhat effective.

Regardless of our feelings about this race we love ads and we REALLY LOVE attack ads.

Positive ads are so boring most of the time.

Political silly season just started.

Overall ROM Ad Grade: B+

Is Ricky Dombrowski Mississippi’s next Secretary of State?

March 3, 2011

Short answer is probably not, but after qualifying as a surprise yesterday we will be covering him because he looks like fun. And we have pictures! (See below)

Just a little digging on our new and exciting single issue revenge candidate Ricky Dombrowski and he looks less and less like a serious candidate and more like some dude with an ax to grind.

It remains to be seen if he is serious about making this run or just wanted to grab a headline.

Regardless, he looks like he’s probably a fun guy to hang out with.

Is that a stripper pole?  And/or an actual stripper?  And is he giving me the middle finger?

Ho Humm… at least we know he has the good judgement to drink Miller Lite (it’s triple hops brewed, if you didn’t know).

Good luck Ricky, we can’t wait to see your campaign ads.

To note: After consulting a lawyer it is obvious that this image falls under “fair use” for political commentary and we were served with a false DMCA notice, so we would have a legal case of perjury against the filer, anyway its not worth going to court over when all you have to do is move the picture from wordpress servers and put it over at photobucket.  We aren’t professional bloggers so it took us a while to figure that out.

Ronnie’s record will make you “Blush”

September 29, 2008

The NRSC is doing a great job getting these YOUTUBE spots out.  This one called “blush” brings back a few of our favorite Mississippi political characters and is worth a look.

DCCC Tries To Launch An All Out Race War In MS-01

May 12, 2008

Now THIS is Racial Politics at it’s absolute worst. The DCCC should be Ashamed of themselves.

From the Article that the DCCC cites:

Southaven Mayor Greg Davis said Thursday he would be willing to display the Jefferson Davis statue, which is in Downtown Memphis, near City Hall at the end of Northwest Drive.

Horn Lake Mayor Nat Baker also said he would take the statues of Davis and of Confederate Gen. Nathan Bedford Forrest “in a heartbeat, even if we’d have to find some privately owned land to put them on.”

Davis said he isn’t “pushing” for the statue of Davis, despite some news reports saying otherwise.

“All I said was we’d be willing to give the statue a home,” Davis said. “That’s as far as my conversation with Gary Roper went.”

Davis said he hasn’t talked with any public official in Memphis about acquiring the statue.

He also said he doesn’t know what the exact process of obtaining the statue would be.

“I don’t even know if Memphis is even going to move it or not,” Davis said. “We were asked if we could give it a home and we said ‘yes.’ We’re not going to pay for it.

So “wanted to honor” and “try to honor” is’nt just a stretch it is complete and total bullcrap. They are talking about the WRONG STATUE!!!! This is FEAR BASED, RACIALLY MOTIVATED AND FALSE.

***Update*** Confirmed This is completely false because Davis was referring to the JEFFERSON DAVIS STATUE, NOT THE NATHAN BEDFORD FORREST STATUE. THIS IS A FLAT OUT LIE AND FABRICATION IT WAS THE MAYOR OF HORN LAKE THAT WANTED THE STATUE IN QUESTION.

Now that “Flyergate” has become national news we remind all you big boy bloggers that you saw it here first.

Travis Childers Caught In a Bold Faced Lie Over Obama Endorsement

April 29, 2008

Channel 3 WREG Busts Travis Childers for Lying about the Obama Endorsement

You watch the video, you look at the evidence, you look at Childers body language. Travis Childers is a Liar. The Obama Endorsement letter has been posted on just about every well read political blog in Mississippi and we have a screen capture here.

Does anyone really think that the campaign manager has not been on the internet in a week, nor did they bother to check to see if there were any facts associated with an attack ad that is running against them.

Notice Childers does not reject the endorsement.

Notice how he fidgets when he has to answer questions about it.

This is a really dumb move, the Davis campaign won this one boys, take your lumps and try to change the subject, we know when someone is lying and yall are full of it. Anyone think we can trust Travis Childers or his campaign manager anymore?

Endorsement: 2 a: to approve openly <endorse an idea>; especially : to express support or approval of publicly and definitely <endorse a candidate>

I would say an open letter and public campaigning qualifies.

Pathetic that the man who wants to represent honest hard working Mississippian’s can smile and lie right to their faces.
